Ms. Anna Wu Hung-yuk, GBS, JP

Ms. Anna Wu is a lawyer admitted to the Law Society’s Roll of Honour. She is the current and founding chair of the Competition Commission. Ms. Wu stepped down as a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong on 1 July 2017 having served for almost 9 years. She is a Member of the International Advisory Board of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and chairs the Academic Board for Postgraduate Certificate in Laws of the University of Hong Kong. She is a global advisor to the University of California Los Angles.

She was a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong and initiated the Equal Opportunities Bill, the first private member’s bill covering a whole area of policy. She previously chaired the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Consumer Council and the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Ms. Wu was also a member of the Law Reform Commission and on the boards of Financial Dispute Resolution Centre Limited, the Hospital Authority, Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and the Securities and Futures Commission.

Ms. Wu was appointed a Justice of the Peace and awarded the Gold and Silver Bauhinia Star by the Government of the HKSAR. She is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Hong Kong and an Honorary Court Member by the Lingnan University. She is also an Honoree of the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
